From Donna
Driscoll, yesterday (Thursday): Just a quick update. I stopped by to see your
mom on my way back from Indy. She was responsive, made requests,
vocalized, used phrases, indicated she Was thirsty. I asked the nurse if
I could give her water and she indicated so...I gave her a couple sips and she
assisted and requested more. She grimaced appropriately, smiled when I
told her about Sandy hall visiting and was better cognitively than she had been
for days. She still looks very thin and emaciated. Don't know if
it's a rally, reaction to less morophine or just part of the process. It
was an enjoyable visit and after 30 minutes, I could tell she was tired.
At her request I lowered her bed and she went to sleep. I'll let you know
how I find things tomorrow. My visit was at about 4 today. Sending
good thoughts.
